President's Bio

Diane Walter, founder and President of HPA, is an author, consultant, and workshop leader whose unique team-driven OJT system has caught the attention and passion of companies throughout the world. With more than 15 years' experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating OJT, Diane has helped all levels of employees to identify skill and knowledge gaps, reduce process variation, re-define procedures and processes, write on-the-job training materials and job aids, and train others where it matters most--on-the-job. She has trained and certified in-house OJT trainers in a variety of organizations, ranging in size from 50 to over 100,000 employees. She is a frequent speaker at international and national conferences, writer of numerous articles for professional and trade publications, author of Training On the Job published by ASTD Press, and consultant to all types of companies and industries including Fortune 100 companies.

Diane was awarded a B.S. degree in 1982 from the University of Washington in metallurgical engineering and an M.A. degree in organizational psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in 1987. Her master's work was focused on organizational change and individual and team performance on the job. She has developed courses and consulted on team building, conflict resolution, motivation, communication, decision-making, human behavior, and on-the-job training. Besides TeamOJT she has created models for conducting needs assessments, performing task analyses, identifying contributing factors and root causes of accidents and incidents, delivering on-the-job training, and evaluating employee performance.
